In the stone industry, white marble is elegant and luxurious. Its color is as white and moist as jade, beautiful and elegant. However, white marble is also not resistant to dirt and belongs to delicate stone. If not paying attention during the processing and installation process, it is easy to have problems such as yellowing. For this reason, many people have a love-hate relationship with white marble.
Today we will talk about the yellowing problem of white marble. How can we avoid it? The following aspects can be noted:
1.For marble installed by wet pasting, it is recommended to do back glue treatment. Waterproof back glue can effectively prevent the alkaline substances and moisture of cement from penetrating into the back of marble. While playing a protective role, it also increases the adhesion during the installation process and strengthens the reinforcement.
2. After the stone processing is completed, rinse it with clean tap water to wash away the residual dust or other substances on the surface during the stone processing process, and then let it air dry naturally to prepare for the next waterproofing work.
3.Natural stone has porous characteristics and a certain water absorption rate. Therefore, processed stone slabs need to be chemically treated with two types: water-based protection and oil-based protection. It should be noted that the stone must be dry inside and out before waterproofing treatment. If protection is done before it is completely dry, it will instead lock moisture inside the stone and cannot evaporate. This will gradually form an effect of different stone colors and may lead to yellowing.
4.During construction and installation, for stone that needs to be cut on site, waterproofing needs to be done again to prevent secondary pollution because the cut part has damaged the original protection treatment in the factory.
5.When installing stone by dry hanging, it is necessary to strictly follow the proportion and fully stir the glue evenly to avoid marble glue penetrating into the stone interior. At the same time, pay attention to the quality of marble glue to avoid seeping out glue oil.
6.For wet pasting installation, such as in bathrooms or on the ground, it is recommended to use white cement for paving. For walls, special stone adhesive mortar should be used for paving.
